Business events are full of introductions. Very few become conversations.

On 30 January, Roshna Saffar represented Virtual Captains at Global Business Conclave 2025 at ITC Chennai. The event was an initiative of Global EDu Crew, and its message to attendees was simple: let’s connect.

Events like this move fast. People swap cards, say a few lines about what they do, and move on to the next conversation. The ones who get remembered are those who can say clearly what their company does, who it helps, and why it’s worth a call. That is a sales skill, and it gets used in every corridor chat.

For Virtual Captains, that made the day a good fit. Roshna spent it meeting business owners and professionals, hearing what they are working on, and explaining where sales support could help.

Chennai was a good place to do it. It is one of south India’s biggest business cities, with manufacturers, tech firms, and a growing number of startups. Companies at that stage often depend on the founder to close every deal. That works for a while, but it limits how fast the business can grow.

The questions at these events tend to repeat. How do we find more buyers? How do we get our team to sell better? How do we grow without the founder in every meeting? These are the problems Virtual Captains works on, so it helps to hear them first-hand and in the founders’ own words.

The conversations that matter don’t end at the venue. A good conclave chat leads to a next step: a call, a meeting, an introduction. That follow-up is where a meeting turns into a relationship, and where a relationship turns into work.

Virtual Captains is glad to have been part of #GBC2025, and to have met so many people building businesses in India.

Business cards end up in drawers. Good conversations end up as deals.
