Virtual Captains at Huddle Global 2025: Kerala’s Startup Expo in Thiruvananthapuram

The expo was organized by the Kerala Startup Mission and ran until 14 December. About 100 startups showed their products, across health, fintech, AI, and space technology. Huddle Global describes itself as India’s largest beachside startup festival.

A hall like this brings together the people who decide how fast a company grows: investors looking for what to back, leaders from industry, and businesses searching for better ways to sell. Virtual Captains put its work in front of all of them.

The message was the same for each. Businesses grow when their teams can sell, and teams get better at selling through practice, not slides. Virtual Captains is a sales consulting firm that works on sales strategy, team training, and virtual staffing.

For a company that trains salespeople, pitching was familiar ground. Every pitch in the hall had to answer three questions in a few minutes:

What does the company do?Who needs it?What happens next?

Virtual Captains answered them the way it teaches others to: in plain words, with a clear ask at the end.

Conversations at an expo are short, and each one is a sales conversation. The same rules apply. Listen first, explain the value clearly, and ask for the next step.

The expo also gave the team a chance to meet other founders and see what they are building. Many of them have strong products and would gain from a partner who understands sales. Those are the conversations Virtual Captains was glad to start.

A good conversation at an expo is forgotten within a day unless someone follows up. Virtual Captains is following up on the ones it began in Kovalam.

Every startup in that hall had a story to tell. Virtual Captains was there to tell its own, and to find the right people to build with.
